I'm a psychotherapist, mother and business owner. I have over 30 years of experience, and specialize in anxiety, loss, change and growth. I guide my clients through a process to overcome stress, heal losses and experience the connection and joy they truly deserve.
"Ultimately, we need to be ourselves, face our fears, uncover our unique gifts and pave way to happiness and joy."
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arizona and National Board Certified Counselor. I have over 25 years in the mental health, counseling and psychotherapy fields. Having worked in both the public and private sectors has allowed me to bring a wealth of knowledge to my practice.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University.
I've been in private practice in Phoenix since 1999 working with individuals dealing with personal issues, relationship issues and major life transitions such as separation or divorce.
My passion is working with women and helping them empower through self-acceptance, finding their voice and connecting with their authentic self. I believe when we connect with ourselves and our authentic truth, we gain emotional freedom and peace.
I have advanced training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques. I received training from Pia Mellody of The Meadows in the Post-Induction Training model (PIT) to treat codependency and childhood relational trauma. In addition, I have been trained by Steven Hayes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps individuals clarify their values, set goals and take action toward a more meaningful life.
I specialize in working with adults who suffer from anxiety, low self- esteem and perfectionism. Many individuals come to see me if they are struggling with codependency, have lost their identity and have trouble setting boundaries in their relationships.
I am originally from India and my early childhood years were spent in Europe before settling in Phoenix, Arizona with my parents and sister. Culture was an important part of my upbringing. And to embrace others was ingrained in me as a young child. I have called Phoenix my home for many years and I am a mother to an adult son who brings me the most joy.
I welcome diversity in my practice and respect people's unique values and backgrounds. I treat everyone equally and provide a supportive environment for individuals to show who they truly are. I find when clients feel safe and supported, they tap into their internal resources, recognize their strengths and begin to make changes that profoundly shift their personal and professional lives.
I use the following therapies in my practice: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Pia Mellody's model of Post- Induction Therapy.
With specific strategies, I can help you work through personal, emotional and relationship challenges. I encourage you to reach out. You don't have to take steps toward better mental health alone.
